MYCHELLE COLLEARY
Here I’ll Stay is Mychelle’s first theatrical performance in London since arriving from New York just a few months ago.
A California native, now honorary New Yorker, Mychelle has garnered critical as well popular acclaim for her work in NYC. In 2003 she was nominated by MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) for OUTSTANDING FEMALE DEBUT; in 2004, 2007, 2008 she was nominated for OUSTANDING JAZZ VOCALIST.
Mychelle landed her first professional acting role while still in high school as Peppermint Patty in Sierra Repertory Theater’s production of Snoopy. A series of other leading roles followed at SRT and the historic Fallon House Theatre before she headed off to study music at San Jose State University.
Prior to leaving the San Francisco Bay area for NYC, audiences enjoyed her performances of folk rock at the Fillmore, Turkish Sufi music at the Place of fine Arts, jazz at the Plush Room and Bach with the San Jose Symphony. Her discography includes "Analgesic" - original compositions, and "After Hours at the Plush Room" – standards.
While performing with the Columbia Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Bobby McFerrin recommended and introduced Mychelle to Laurie Antonioli (Head of vocal dept at Berkeley Jazz School) with whom she privately studied vocal jazz for three years while also studying classical voice and composition at SJSU. |

PETER SCOTT-PRESLAND
Peter started in gay cabaret in 1972 in a frock in front of 50 rugby players. Since then he has performed in, and been director of, Pub Theatre Company Birmingham, Consenting Adults in Public, and Homo Promos. Among his performing credits he created the roles of Molina in the UK Premiere of Manuel Puig’s Kiss of the Spiderwoman (1983) and Gideon Petrie in the world premiere of Peter Shaffer’s Shrivings (1975).
He is a regular cabaret artiste, appearing regularly at the chanson-oriented Pirate Jenny’s in Stoke Newington, where some of this material was first seen, and has the distinction of performing after every Pride March in London since 1978; he will be doing his usual thing this year on July 5th at (appropriately enough) the Queen’s Temple in Kensington Gardens. |
